While working with Richard Curtis at Portobello Studios, we created this campaign for the Robin Hood Tax Coalition to popularise a tiny financial transaction tax (ftt) on banks to raise billions of dollars to tackle poverty and address climate change around the world. We played with the ‘simplicity’ and ‘visionary’ nature of the Robin Hood imagery to craft and promote the campaign. People across the UK, US and Europe joined in to demand the banks pay their fair share.
Graffiti artists were invited by Mutate Britain to participate in a Robin Hood Tax graffiti exhibition in East London. dr. d designed a mural titled, “It’s a No-Brainer,” which caused a media stir on launch day. Supporters included Bill Nighy, Noel Clarke, Joe Dempsey and Tom Felton, who used their celebrity to draw media and blogger attention to the work.
